Today, IE member Salvador Sanchez-Alonso has presented in Heraklion (Crete) a paper reporting on the re-design of Organic.Edunet to expose learning objects metadata as linked data. The presentation is part of the First International Workshop on eLearning Approaches for the Linked Data Age, an event co-located with the 8th Extended Semantic Web Conference, ESWC2011.
The workshop builds on the idea that the Linked Data approach has “the potential to fulfill the eLearning vision of Web-scale interoperability of eLearning resources and highly personalised and adaptive eLearning applications”. Thus, it aims to become a research forum for exploring the promises of the Web of Linked Data in technology-enhanced learning by gathering researchers from several areas, specially from the Semantic Web and technology-enhanced learning ones.
